The Groveland Water and Sewer Department and the Board of Water Commissioners are pleased to announce that the pilot study program has been officially completed.

As part of the pilot study, all tested filtration media successfully produced water that meets MassDEP and federal EPA regulations. Once the data has been officially compiled, the results will be used to choose the best filtration system and size for the new water treatment plant.

All three wells have resumed full operations.

The Department and Water Commissioners remind residents that while wells are back up and running, a Level 2 drought is still in effect by MassDEP for the Northeast Region of the state.

By regulation, a Level 2 drought requires that all non-essential outdoor water uses be banned, except watering of flower gardens with drip irrigation, hand-held hoses, or watering cans. This means that residents should shut off their lawn irrigation systems.

The Department and Water Commissioners thank residents for their patience, understanding, and collaboration during the pilot study and ongoing drought.
