Superintendent Colin Stokes announces that all outdoor watering is prohibited, effective immediately.

The Groveland Water and Sewer Department’s implementation of this full outdoor watering ban is being done out of an abundance of caution, in order to maintain healthy water levels in the town’s wells. Water levels are strained due to the existing drought conditions throughout much of the state, including Groveland. One of the town’s wells is also out of use until repairs are completed. The start of the well repair project will be announced at a later date.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice. Those found in violation of the ban will be subject to fines.

“During this time, we are also asking residents to minimize their overall water use and to repair any known internal plumbing leaks in their homes or businesses to help conserve water,” Superintendent Stokes said. “We will continue to monitor water supply levels, and let you know if and when these restrictions change. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.”
