Groveland Water and Sewer Rate Hearing March 2

The Groveland Water and Sewer Department and the Board of Water Commissioners will hold a public water rate hearing on March 2 at 5 p.m. at the Groveland Fire Department, 181 Main St.

The Rate Hearing, which was initially opened on February 23rd, was voted to be continued until March 2 due to the weather conditions and to allow residents the opportunity to attend the meeting.

The proposed increases for the upcoming fiscal year are driven by anticipated town growth and the ongoing Water Treatment Plant project.

The rates are based on a Water Rate Study completed with Raftelis, a municipal utility management consulting company, and Apex Companies, which is overseeing the design of the new facility.

Water rates are expected to increase, but sewer rates will not change. The senior rate policy will remain in place.

Ratepayers are encouraged to attend the hearing and share feedback.
