The Groveland Water Department is pleased to provide the following update on its Water Treatment Plant.
The Department has hired Weston & Sampson, a North Shore engineering and environmental consulting firm, to act as the Owner’s Project Manager (OPM). Their role will be to oversee the project. A few of their tasks include managing and reviewing cost estimates, acting as the primary consultant, monitoring project schedules, and assisting with the bidding process. Currently, their team is reviewing the design plans for constructability, with a focus on value engineering.
At this time, roughly 50% of the design is under review by the OPM.
Groveland Water and Sewer’s design consultant, Apex Companies, is finalizing the 75% design, and any changes that are suggested by the OPM will be incorporated into this phase of the design process as needed.
During this phase of the design process, the department has applied for and received various permits and approvals. Due to the size and scope of this project, the department must seek approval from numerous state and local entities.
Groveland Water, Apex Companies, and Weston & Sampson will continue to work together on behalf of the residents of Groveland.
As this project progresses, additional updates will be provided.
